Radiant Reader Celebrations!

June 16, 2025

May 15th was a day to celebrate all of our Tiger’s reading efforts throughout the year! Students enjoyed making chalk art at lunch recess, our Rad Reader Cubs enjoyed their in school celebration and our Rad Reader Tigers had a blast at their after school celebration.
Thank you to our Radiant Readers team of volunteers for launching such a meaningful program. Laura Ancich, Char Richenberg and Ashley Borjeson were the dream team behind this pilot program this year and we are so grateful for their thoughtfulness and hard work to develop such a quality program.
The support was matched by our CE librarian Benjamin Heimfeld as well as the Carnation KCLS librarian, Bekka Martin.
Parents, caregivers, teachers, librarians please be on the lookout for next year’s list (coming soon!) and support your readers during the summer as they get a jump start on being a RAD reader!

2024-25 Grant funds

June 16, 2025
This school year, PTSA awarded $10,000 in grant money to CE staff, and we’re so proud of this direct impact!
Please take a look at our end-of-year flyer coming home this week to see every grant awarded! Just a few are:
T-shirts for 5th grade camp
Robots for 1st grade classrooms (so they can learn early coding!)
Flexible-seating for 3rd and 4th graders (think stools that can wobble)
Number Rock (math support) for 2nd graders
Salmon-release field trip for 3rd graders
Walkie talkie replacements for staff!
It’s all thanks to you that we could have such an impactful year!

WOW! PTSA has accomplished SO much this year – with the awesome support of our staff and families.
It’s a massive team effort. Be sure to check out our end-of-year flyer to see all of the fun events from the year, awesome extras (swings! before-school theater and chess! new partnership with King County Library! and so much more).
We are so, so proud to have been able to support the school so heavily and build a thriving team of volunteers.
We hope each of you felt the love and passion from PTSA!
