Update from Riverview School District…
Riverview School District Schools to remain closed, Dec. 12:
Due to hazardous flood conditions, forecasted impacts and information provided by local officials, all Riverview School District schools will remain closed tomorrow, December 12. This closure includes the cancellation of all school-related activities and programs.
We continue to consult with emergency management partners throughout the region and will provide a districtwide update on plans for next week on Sunday evening.
Our priority is ensuring the safety of students, staff and families during this period of significant flooding and uncertain travel conditions.
Thank you for your patience and care for one another as our community navigates these challenging conditions.
Stay safe.
From Empower Youth Network…
Many people in our community turn to one another for support with basic needs—warm clothing, a warm place to stay, or help staying safe during the season. If you or someone you know could use a little extra warmth or stability right now, local resources are ready to help.
Reaching out connects us, reminds us we’re not alone, and strengthens the care we share as a community. Needing Help Is Human.

**Update for Wednesday 12/10**
From RSD…
All Riverview School District schools will continue to operate on a two-hour delay this morning, Dec. 10, 2025.
Water levels in some areas could potentially continue to rise throughout the day.
As a result, in addition to a delay in school start times, all afterschool activities at all schools are canceled.
There will be no morning or afternoon out-of-district transportation. All morning and afternoon preschool, childcare, before-school programs, and zero hour have been canceled. Encompass will also operate on a two-hour delay.
Riverview School District will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow morning, Dec. 10, 2025, for all schools.
In addition, there will be no out-of-district transportation. Preschool, morning childcare, all before-school programs, and zero hour are canceled.
Encompass will operate on a two-hour delay.
Due to forecasts of heavy rain overnight and ongoing flooding in the region, additional road closures are expected to affect morning travel times. The delayed start provides additional time for employees and families, particularly those commuting from outside our community, to adjust travel routes as needed to arrive safely.
At this time, Tolt Hill Road, a portion of Highway 203 south of Tolt Hill Road, and 124th Street (and bridge) remain closed due to flooding.
Several local roads have large areas of standing water that could create challenging travel conditions. We encourage everyone to use caution, allow extra time, and put safety first when traveling in the area.
District staff will be reassessing local road conditions in the early morning hours, and will communicate any updates to our plan as they become known.
Winter break is a great time for Tigers to work on their Radiant Reader Booklist!
They can look for books that interest them on the Rad Readers Cart in the library and you can support them by placing holds at the public library. Audio books are a great option too!…Especially for use during travel.
