Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for dinner and a movie on Friday!
We enjoyed popcorn, good company and the PTSA gave away 2 copies of the book that the movie was based on.
We also had posters for everyone to take home and 1 lucky Tiger went home with a The Wild Robot poster!’

The wonderful librarians at KCLS are RAD! They are very excited to be part of our Radiant Readers challenge to help our students read their way to the Rad Reader celebration in May! Here are a few of the cool things they have done:
*A special display of Radiant Reader books just across the street at the Carnation branch
*Radiant Reader book lists on hand at the Carnation branch
*Online lists to easily find and/or place holds on these titles

A reminder that October is National Youth Substance Use Prevention Month!
Empower Youth Network invites adults in the Snoqualmie Valley to take a community survey to inform their work in this space.
The survey is anonymous and will close on November 1. You can take the survey online in English or Spanish, and paper copies are available at our local KCLS library branches.

The Washington State PTA is hosting their annual Legislative Assembly this weekend.
There are 7 legislative issues that will be considered:
1. Mitigating the Adverse Impacts of Climate Change: Protecting the environment for future generations.
2. Preventing and Reducing Gun Violence and Suicide: Ensuring safe learning environments.
3. Addressing the Student Mental Health Crisis: Supporting students with access to mental health resources.
4. Funding, Inclusion, and Supports in Special Education: Every student deserves tailored support.
5. Closing the Digital Divide: Increasing educational equity through better access to technology.
6. Closing Funding Gaps: Fighting for fully funded schools across Washington.
7. Expanding School Construction Funding: Safe and modern learning spaces for all.

Magician Jeff Evans wowed the Tigers today with an incredible, funny, inspirational and entertaining assembly!
In line with our Reading Rainbow theme, the focus was on the magic of reading!
Special shout outs to all the brave kids who got up on stage! What a memorable afternoon!

Classic children’s authors and book characters are referenced throughout the show, from Amelia Bedelia to Harry Potter. Curious George appears to perform the “World Famous Banana Trick.”
Kids and adults alike will have a “mind blown” moment when Jeff shows how reading helps solve the puzzling Rubik’s Cube.

DINE OUT at Red Pepper on October 25th to support our school. Mention Carnation Elementary, and they will donate 15% of their profits back to the school.
After you grab your pizza, head to school to join us for a Family Movie Night in the MPR.

CEPTSA will be hosting the first Family Movie Night of the year this week!
Please join us on Friday, October 25th for a screening of “The One and Only Ivan.” Event starts at 6pm.
