The Washington State PTA Top 5 Legislative Priorities for 2026–2027 are:

Closing the Funding Gaps — Ensuring adequate funding for K–12 education, special education, transportation, and school operating costs.

Addressing the Student Mental Health Crisis — Expanding access to school counselors and mental health resources.

Addressing Funding, Inclusion, and Supports in Special Education — Improving special education funding, staffing, inclusion, and student supports.

Preventing and Reducing Gun Violence and Suicide — Supporting prevention, safe firearm storage, and mental health services.

Expanding School Construction Funding Options — Increasing funding for school facilities and improving access to construction bonds.
