Radiant Readers
As a result of successful fundraising efforts in the 2024-2025 school year, CE PTSA was able to provide books for every single classroom! Included in this gift are many titles from the 2025-2026 Radiant Reader booklists as well as OTTER/Sasquatch nominees. May they help fuel another amazing year of Rad Readers and remind students that books are a gift to be treasured and shared.
How to participate:
1. CHOOSE A BOOKLIST. There are two booklists of carefully curated books — CUBS (Grades K-2) and TIGERS (Grades 3-5). Each booklist consists of 30 books as well as choice options. Books range from classics to more current titles as well as Otter & Sasquatch Award nominees.
2. READ 15 BOOKS BY APRIL 17th. Read independently or with friends & family. Listening to audiobooks or having someone read to you, (including teacher read Alouds) also counts! Track reading progress with a parent or teacher signature on your booklist.
3. CELEBRATE IN MAY!

Help from Mr. Heimfeld
Our fantastic Carnation Elementary librarian is RAD! He has created a Radiant Reader book cart in the library with titles from both lists!
Also, as students check off titles, they get to put their names up on the bulletin board in the hallway! Encourage your student to tell Mr. Heimfeld when they’ve read 1+, 3+, 5+, 10+, 15+ and he will get them stickers to add their names to. Thank you, Mr. Heimfeld!
